We call it hope that people can improve and a willingness to forgive past actions, NO MATTER HOW HORRIBLE. And again, not to bring him into this, but I think I have Jesus on my side, at least in this "forgiveness and 'who is my neighbor'" issue. I think it's within someone's "right mind" to associate with a person unrepentant about bombing buildings, assuming the person doesn't also go around helping to bomb buildings.
