Hannity to go Solo at 9PM
It was announced just a few weeks ago that Alan Colmes was leaving ‘Hannity & Colmes’ at which time much talk arose about who would replace the liberal.
Well…nobody.
Fox News has decided to leave the hour entirely in Hannity’s hands. The new show creatively titled ‘Hannity’ will feature a panel of three people; a liberal, a conservative, and an x-factor.
Here’s my take. I like Sean Hannity, a lot. I like his viewpoints, I like his logic, and I like how he presents his beliefs. However, I do not think he fits into a solo hosting position. I’ve watched ‘Hannity’s America’ before and I don’t feel that he can carry and hourly show the way Bill O’Reilly can. I think he needs a co-host and I also think he needs a liberal co-host.
The two sided show rang true to Fox’s motto, ‘Fair and Balanced,’ not to say without a liberal host in the 9pm slot the slogan suddenly becomes obsolete, but I think Fox would be wise to make it a more balanced hour with a permanent liberal host.
I guess we’ll see how it works, if the show is successful, it’s successful. But I have a funny feeling it might tank and Fox will be scrambling to find a liberal to fill Colmes’ shoes.
